November comes with good news for Thai pet owners: International insurtech Bolttech has announced that two new enhanced personal accident (PA+) and pet insurance plans are now available online, underwritten by FWD General Insurance.
Both insurance options allow them to acquire the first comprehensive online insurance for their beloved, little furry friends and be covered for personal accidents at the same time.
For the first time in Thailand, animal lovers can purchase an easy and end-to-end online pet insurance.
Customers can buy this plan with premiums starting at THB 799 per year or THB 67 per month, covering accident medical expenses of up to THB 3,000 per incident and up to THB 30,000 per year. It also covers illness medical expenses of up to THB 15,000 per year.
Also, it’s the country’s first and only pet insurance that offers beneficiaries inpatient care (IPD) for accidents, with a 2000-baht coverage per day for up to 30 days.
With the insurance plan, pet owners can also buy insurance for themselves with a more straightforward registration process, as there is no breed limitation and no need to produce microchips, official registration certificates, or proof of previous checks to be covered by the plan.
The enhanced personal accident insurance (PA+) offers more benefits, including coverage for Covid-19 and mosquito-related diseases of up to THB 45,000 per year.
By purchasing the PA+ plan, people can also enjoy extensive coverage for post-treatment accident care -such as transportation, nursing, physiotherapy, prosthetics and mobility aids- and be also allowed to claim up to THB 2,000 a day for a maximum of 30 days for medical expenses related to accidents or specific illnesses.
Customers can also add up to five children aged above one to the policy, helping them protect not only themselves but their families.
Both plans are available exclusively at Bolttech and through agents using the platform from November onwards.
Speaking about the new pet insurance, Bolttech Thailand’s General Manager Bob Wouters said the company was always looking for several ways to address protection gaps and meet more and more customer needs with comprehensive and innovative products.
