Krispy Kreme Offers Free Doughnuts to Anyone Vaccinated

Krispy Kreme has a new sweet deal intended to motivate people to get vaccinated: anyone who has received the shot and has proof of vaccination can get a free doughnut.

The international chain of donut shops announced that, starting Monday, any of their customers could enjoy a free Original Glazed donut at participating locations nationwide as long as they have a valid COVID-19 vaccination card.

It said that the promotion would be available throughout the year.

“Starting today, guests who show a valid Covid-19 vaccination card at any Krispy Kreme shop in the US can receive a free… donut – anytime, any day, even every day – through the remainder of 2021,” the company wrote in a press release.

Krispy Kreme also explained the conditions to enjoy the promotion.

It said that people who have received at least one of the two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or the shot developed by Johnson & Johnson, qualify to get a free donut.

But the guests must have a vaccination card in order to redeem the gift, as a vaccine sticker is not valid.

Moreover, the donut company explained that it is not a one-time offer. People who have gotten the jab will be able to visit one of its locations for the rest of 2021 and receive a free donut every day.

Through the press release, Krispy Kreme also said it had plans to support healthcare workers and volunteers who administer the vaccines.

It expects to deliver free  doughnuts to vaccination centers across the country over the following weeks. The donut chain has also given its employees up to four hours of paid time off to get the jab.

Krispy Kreme also said it wanted to back efforts to deal with the health crisis.

“We all want to get COVID-19 behind us as fast as possible and we want to support everyone doing their part to make the country safe by getting vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available to the,” Chief Marketing Officer Dave Skena said in a statement.

To date, the United States has administered more than 100 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to reports, more than 35 million Americans, representing 10.5% of the nation’s total population, have been fully vaccinated. Besides, Biden’s administration estimates to have enough doses available for each adult in May.
