The occasion comprised part of a wider regional showcase, with hundreds of contestants from twelve Asian nations demonstrating superb skill and creativity as they competed for the rare chance to land a place at Campari Red Hands APAC 2025 in Milan next January.
Local bartenders made a dazzling impression at this year’s event, where the roster of nine finalists submitted entries that stood out for their craftsmanship and technical approach to contemporary mixology. Their offerings exemplified a deep understanding of balance and narrative, elevating each drink beyond technical execution into something more polished.
Under the theme “Cocktail & Sense”, entrants were invited to delve into the connection of the five senses—sight, smell, taste, touch, and sound—embedding multi-sensory stimuli to discover how aromatic profiles and visual aesthetics can dramatically heighten our tastes.
Dennis Thurner, co-founder and bar manager of Garnish Samui, the innovative 12-seat bar on Koh Samui, arose as the victor following a wonderful performance, earning the honour of representing Thailand at the Red Hands global finals, scheduled to take place in Milan.
Reimagining Timeless Cocktails Through the Five-Sense Concept
Founded in Italy in 1860, Campari is a celebrated red aperitif lauded for its lustrous colour, secret recipe, and unmistakably complex, bittersweet flavour. It boasts a fabulous infusion of herbs, aromatic plants, and fruit intended to stimulate the senses and awaken appetite.
Campari can be savoured across a wide variety of interpretations, from classic to modern, thanks to its inherent versatility. For generations, this spirit has been a powerful source of inspiration for the world’s leading bartenders and artists in various fields—stirring instinct, awakening passion, and enabling the undeviating pursuit of limitless creative expression.
Its legacy springs into life through the Negroni, born in 1919, when Count Camillo Negroni reimagined the Americano by substituting gin for soda. A masterful blend of Campari and vermouth, the matchless Florentine classic continues to influence new creations globally.
Elevating to the world stage transcends the title alone, offering unparalleled access to the prestige of Campari’s superb portfolio. The winner of Campari Red Hands APAC 2025 will be given a €3,000 prize and have their cocktails spotlighted in the 2025 “Negroni Family Tree”, an illustrious publication showcasing the brand’s most iconic and innovative drinks.
Victory is just the beginning for the winning bartender, who is due to benefit from multiple career-defining opportunities, such as regional events and guest shifts that will raise their influence and presence, while broadening connections within the bartending community.
Campari Red Hands APAC 2025 is driving the evolution of bartending by pioneering new, impactful ideas through its platform. If you want to discover more about the programme’s vision, see Campari’s official website here or visit its Facebook page for regular updates.
