K-Pop Comes to McDonald’s Thailand: BTS Meals To Launch

There is good news for K-pop and McDonald’s fans living in Thailand: the BTS Meal will officially arrive in the kingdom’s restaurants on July 16.

The limited-time set meal is inspired by the popular K-pop band and includes a box of ten Chicken McNuggets and a medium Coke.

It also has limited-edition cajun and sweet chili sauces inspired by South Korean McDonald’s restaurants that the BTS members handpicked.

From this Friday, up until August 18, the BTS meal will be available nationwide from 11:00 a.m. in the morning.

The long-awaited set is part of a collaboration between the world-famous fast-food franchise and the K-pop superstars.

BTS Meal was first introduced in May and has been released in 49 countries.

Yet many McDonald’s locations worldwide have faced chaos and commotion from immensely high demand.

Some restaurants ended up with overturned chairs and tables in their dining room, while others offered the meal only through the delivery or drive-thru to reduce overcrowding.

In Indonesia, police had to stay behind counters to control the situation, and some stores were forced to close amid the uproar.

On July 6, McDonald’s Thailand revealed that three of its Bangkok’s outlets would hold the K-pop feast launch.

Those are Amarin Plaza, Gaysorn Village, and Siam Paragon. The rest of the restaurants will also offer the meal starting Friday, but without any frills or BTS paraphernalia.

Given Thailand’s huge band fan base, Bangkok’s BTS Army is expected to take over McDonald’s locations early that day.
