Asset World Corporation (AWC), Thailand’s leading integrated lifestyle real estate group, officially opens Skyflyers: Wings of Garudapterus today, Saturday, November 29.
Located at Asiatique The Riverfront Destination, the new attraction invites families, tourists, and local visitors to step into a playful and imaginative world that brings prehistoric Thailand to life.
Soaring to the height of a 36-storey building (135 metres), Skyflyers is now the tallest giant swing ride in the Asia-Pacific region and the first Thai attraction inspired by a prehistoric species discovered and officially named in Thailand.
The experience centres on “Garudapterus” — the first pterosaur ever identified in Southeast Asia — and blends scientific storytelling with immersive design in a fresh, modern format.
Skyflyers draws inspiration from this newly discovered species, unearthed by Thai palaeontologists earlier this year. The project turns the palaeontological breakthrough into a dynamic, interactive adventure designed for both education and entertainment.
The name “Garudapterus” translates to “wings of Garuda.” In Thai tradition, Garuda represents power, courage, and immortality, symbolising national pride and auspicious strength.
The attraction unfolds across detailed landscapes inspired by Thai palaeontological sites, including canyons, nesting grounds, ancient soil layers, oasis forests, and fossil footprints, created with conceptual input from the Palaeontological Research and Education Centre at Mahasarakham University, the institution behind the identification of the species.
Guests begin their experience in a prehistoric-style ticket lounge that evokes an excavation site, complete with sediment-like textures and fossil chambers developed in collaboration with the Department of Mineral Resources.
Families then move into the Garudapterus Hatchery, an interactive learning zone where children scan an “egg ticket” and watch their personalised pterosaur hatch on screen.
Each child can name their prehistoric companion and receive a Birth Certificate — introducing fossil science and evolution through playful, accessible design.
A mining-shaft-inspired staircase leads guests to the Observatory Platform, offering panoramic views, photo spots, and themed seating alongside food-and-drink options. Visitors may choose to ride Skyflyers or simply enjoy the atmosphere and scenery.
This landmark project supports AWC’s vision to develop Asiatique into a Global Riverside Destination, integrating creativity, culture, and entertainment to deliver world-class experiences rooted in Thai identity.
Safety is central to the development of Skyflyers. The attraction was manufactured in Austria by Funtime, a globally trusted amusement-ride specialist with operations in more than 25 countries.
Built under TÜV-certified engineering standards, the ride reflects decades of experience in design, installation, and international safety compliance.
Ticket prices start from 320 Baht and can be purchased here.
