A significant section of the hugely popular Asiatique night market in Bangkok’s Bang Kho Laem district is set to be transformed into an immersive experience, transporting visitors back to the Jurassic period, approximately 145 million years ago.
Wallapa Traisorat, CEO and president of Asset World Corporation (AWC), announced on Tuesday that “The Jurassic World: The Experience” is expected to be completed by the second quarter of next year.
She mentioned that AWC is collaborating with Neon and Universal Live Events & Location Based Entertainment to transform a 6,000-square-meter area of Asiatique into a Jurassic adventure.
According to her, the first phase of the development will involve an investment of 1.4 billion baht, establishing it as the world’s largest Jurassic immersive experience.
The park, designed to depict the life of dinosaurs, will feature a giant dinosaur egg as its central landmark and will include various zones dedicated to restaurants and shops.
Upon completion of the first phase, she noted, AWC and its partners plan to promptly commence the subsequent three phases.
She also remarked that this project aims to position Thailand as a sustainable tourism destination. Wallapa mentioned that the company is finalizing a reasonable admission fee for the experience, hoping to keep it under a few hundred baht.
Tourist visits to Asiatique are steadily increasing, with numbers now approaching 80-85% of those seen before the pandemic, drawing about 30,000 visitors on weekdays and 50,000 on weekends, Wallapa noted.
Ron Tan, Executive Chairman & Group CEO of NEON, explained that his company, staffed with a dedicated team of engineers and architects, is intensively working to craft and provide an immersive experience for both Thai nationals and international guests.
