Bolt and Raks Thai Foundation Join Hands To Promote Drivers’ Safety

Bolt Thailand has recently teamed up with the Raks Thai Foundation to organize a special training activity for its drivers, titled “Boosting Confidence, Driving Safely with Bolt”, which further reflects the company’s continuous commitment to enhancing safety in its services.

The purpose of the activity was to raise awareness about cultivating a safe and respectful environment, by stressing the importance of setting both physical and mental boundaries between drivers and riders as it is vital for ensuring smooth and secure trips. Establishing these boundaries boosts confidence, creating an epic experience for everyone involved.

Headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, Bolt is a global mobility company providing ride hailing, scooter and e-bike sharing, food delivery, grocery services and car rentals in 50+ nations. It became one of Thailand’s top ride hailing firms, after entering the Thai market in 2020.

The event, attended by many Bolt drivers, was supported by the Raks Thai Foundation, an organization focused on sustainable development and gender equality. The entity offered relevant insights on human rights and practical tips to prevent workplace rights violations.

Raks Thai Foundation’s representative, Atiya Kulkobkiat, shown in the photo below, stated “We see the importance of this training and are committed to raising awareness of human rights. Collaborating with Bolt on this project gives us the opportunity to empower drivers and riders to maintain appropriate boundaries, and make every ride safe and respectful”.

During the gathering, Bolt also demonstrated its key safety features for drivers and riders, such as audio trip recording, which lets users start an in-app recording if they feel unsafe, and trip sharing, enabling them to share the trip’s real-time status with friends and family.

Aiming To Foster a Safe, Respectful Driver-Rider Relationships

Bolt’s newest safety feature, requiring new users to verify their identity before utilizing the service, was also brought to attention during the event. Other safety measures include an SOS button that allows drivers and riders to contact the police with a single press, as well as in-app calls and messaging, journey anomaly detection, and driver verification checks.

The activity also gave drivers a chance to share their experiences, and feedback with Bolt and the Raks Thai Foundation teams to improve service quality. Drivers were encouraged to discuss how to effectively handle various situations that they might encounter at work.

Nathadon Suksiritarnan, Bolt Thailand’s General Manager, stated “The activity offers great insights into maintaining appropriate boundaries during trips. It is a wonderful opportunity to gather real feedback from the users, helping us improve services to meet their needs”.

“Creating a safe space between drivers and passengers is a crucial first move in fostering a safer environment that extends to the broader community”, Mr. Nathadon added. Safety is a top priority for Bolt, making sure every trip is a memorable experience for both users.

Bolt’s recent collaboration with the Raks Thai Foundation marks a significant step forward in reaffirming the company’s unwavering dedication to being at the forefront of providing safe, respectful and professional transportation services across several cities in Thailand.
