To celebrate World Car Free Day this September, Bolt, the global shared mobility provider, has proudly showcased the impressive growth of its Electric Vehicle (EV) category, further reinforcing the company’s strong commitment to promoting emission-free urban mobility.
As of August 2024, Bolt’s Green category has seen a significant increase in active electric vehicles, boasting a dramatic growth rate of 257.5%. This major milestone aligns perfectly with the current global movement toward minimizing reliance on traditional fuel-powered vehicles and actively supporting for cleaner, more sustainable transportation alternatives.
Collectively, Bolt’s Green category has logged over 4.51 million kilometres, a distance that is roughly equivalent to 112 trips around the world at the equator, highlighting the growing preference among riders in the country for environmentally friendly transportation option.
The gain in popularity of Bolt’s EVs is echoed in a recent report by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) and EV company Great Wall Motor, which reveals that lower fuel prices are the main factor driving Thai users to switch from internal combustion engine vehicles to EVs, with 89.4% being primarily motivated by the savings on fuel costs.
Bolt’s Green category was launched as part of its key effort to minimize the environmental impact of urban transportation. This scheme has been adopted by both drivers and riders, aligning with the firm’s mission to offer electric, efficient, and affordable mobility solutions.
Nathadon Suksiritarnan, General Manager of Bolt in Thailand, conveyed his excitement on the growth of Bolt’s Green category calling it a big step toward a zero-emission future. He also highlighted the rise in the adoption of electric and hybrid shared mobility in Thailand.
