Capella Bangkok Invites Guests To Enjoy Loy Krathong’s Magic

Patrons who would like to celebrate Loy Krathong, one of the country’s most picturesque festivals, can also immerse themselves in a most unforgettable dining and entertainment experience offered by the spectacular riverside hotel, Capella Bangkok.

Loy Krathong festival, believed to date from the 14th century, encompasses the ancient ritual of paying homage and respect to the water spirits as part of Thailand’s traditions.

On the twelfth lunar month’s full moon, people gather on Thailand’s waterways to float decorative flower vessels (Loy Krathong) and cleanse their souls for the coming year.

On Friday, November 19, Capella Bangkok will host its Loy Krathong celebration in the resort’s serene courtyard by the Chao Phraya River, inviting guests to enjoy an elegant dinner, cultural performances, and moonlit fireworks overlooking the River of Kings.

The resort’s Thai restaurant Phra Nakhon and its master chef’s team offer a menu inspired by authentic Thai cuisine, with dishes made from herbs and vegetables grown in Capella Bangkok’s organic greenhouse that features the kingdom’s cultural and culinary heritage.

Live cooking stations and Thai-family sharing plates on the restaurant’s alfresco terrace at the water’s edge will resemble the experience of eating at some of the finest Thai street food stalls, which are known the world over for their outstanding, diverse selection.

Also, the resort’s exclusive restaurant by three-Michelin starred Chef Mauro Colagreco, Côte by Mauro Colagreco, offers a nine-course “Carte Blanche” blind menu experience, giving guests a chance to taste the finest seasonal flavors of French and Italian cuisine.

Throughout the evening, Thai dance shows and live music performances with classical instruments shall enhance the atmosphere and create the perfect, ethereal scenery to enjoy the most enchanting festival during the entire calendar year of the Kingdom.

Afterwards, guests can join together at the riverside to light candles, arrange flowers, and cast their own krathong to the Chao Phraya, offering a unique and magical view that only the full moon’s silver light dancing on the river water can give you and your loved ones.

In keeping with its commitment to protecting the environment, Capella Bangkok ensures that every handmade krathong is biodegradable and as friendly as possible to the planet.
