Chonburi Named Host City for Tomorrowland Thailand 2026

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has confirmed that Tomorrowland, the world-famous electronic dance music festival, will be held in Chonburi in December 2026, marking the event’s debut in Asia. The project is expected to draw investment worth several billion baht.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, announced that the Belgian organisers of Tomorrowland have officially selected Chonburi Province as the host location for the 2026 edition.

The festival, renowned as the largest EDM event globally, is anticipated to deliver significant economic and tourism benefits to the region.

“This will be the first time Tomorrowland is held in Asia,” Thapanee said.

“At present, Tomorrowland is set to hold its event in Thailand in December 2026. Discussions are ongoing regarding what support the government can offer, such as BOI incentives, privileges, and possibly partial funding.”

Chonburi was chosen for its expansive land area, infrastructure, and accessibility. The province is well-connected by U-Tapao International Airport and can be easily reached from both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports in Bangkok.

Its road network also supports smooth travel for visitors from across the country and abroad.

The selected venue, situated near the sea and partly on private land, will be developed with the support of local landowners. Chonburi’s range of accommodation options and readiness of the surrounding community further reinforced its selection as the host city.

Thapanee emphasised the broader impact of the event on the country’s tourism and entertainment sectors.

“These discussions are focused on the benefits Thailand will receive. The main investment will come from Tomorrowland itself, as well as private sector players who will manage the event,” she said.

“The main issue that prevented the event from taking place previously was Tomorrowland’s need to find the most suitable location.”

“Now that the venue has been selected, Thailand is seen as the most promising country in Asia. We believe everyone will support the budget, as Thailand will benefit greatly.”

The festival’s debut in Thailand is part of a long-term plan expected to span at least five years. The average annual budget is projected at around US$10 million, with large-scale concerts and cultural experiences included under the agreement.

Beyond music, the event will also launch a Tomorrowland Academy aimed at building skills among Thai entrepreneurs and professionals in the live entertainment industry. Organisers aim to contribute to the well-being of local communities while positioning Thailand as a key destination for global music tourism.

TAT estimates hundreds of thousands of international visitors will attend the multi-day event. The first edition is expected to run for two to three days, featuring exclusive experience packages, hotel accommodations, and pre- and post-tour options, similar to the model used in Belgium.

With global attention turning to Thailand, Tomorrowland 2026 is poised to become a landmark event, elevating the country’s profile as a premier destination for world-class festivals.
