Explore the Wonders of Cosmos at Space Journey Bangkok Expo

Index Creative Village Pcl has teamed up with Bhiraj Buri Group to launch the first-ever Space Journey Bangkok exhibition in Thailand. This landmark event, featuring over 600 genuine spacecraft parts, will be held at BITEC Bangna from December 16, 2024, to April 16, 2025.

The exhibition is designed to captivate the public with the wonders of space technology, showcasing a collection of rare and valuable spacecraft components from both the United States and the former Soviet Union.

With a significant investment and the complexities involved in shipping the exhibits internationally, the organizers anticipate that Space Journey Bangkok will attract 300,000 visitors, both local and international, during its four-month duration.

Kriengkrai Kanjanapokin, the founder and CEO of Index Creative Village Pcl, has highlighted the hefty investment required for this exhibition.

“Importing these items into Thailand involves very high costs. The shipping expenses are three times higher than usual due to the need to avoid conflict-prone routes,” he said.

Pitiphatr Buri, CEO of Bhiraj Buri, stressed that the exhibition is poised to expand the understanding and enthusiasm for space exploration among Thai children, with potential long-term benefits for Thailand’s business sector.

BITEC has upgraded its exhibition facilities to accommodate the event, which will cover an area of about 2,000 square meters.

The exhibition aims to deepen the interest in space exploration among Thai youth, potentially influencing the country’s economic future.

In addition to the exhibition, the organizers have scheduled eight additional educational events over the next few months.

With its capacity to host 400 annual events and attract 7 million visitors, the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) is ideally equipped for such endeavors.

Dr. Saran Poshyachinda, the executive director of the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT), highlighted the growing significance of the space industry globally.

He estimates that Thailand’s potential in the space sector could reach up to 100 trillion baht in the next decade.

Featured attractions at the Space Journey Bangkok exhibition include:

– Original component of the F1 engine from the Saturn V space shuttle
– Original control panel from the Mission Houston Command Center
– 1:1 model of the Apollo module
– Mars rover model
– Lunar probe model
– Russian lunar rover Lunokhod
– Meteorite collection

As Thailand aims to become a leader in space education and innovation in Asia, Space Journey Bangkok is poised to inspire a new generation of scientists, engineers, and space enthusiasts across the region.
