Giant Squid Game Dolls Arrive in Bangkok Ahead of Final Season

Fans of the global Netflix hit “Squid Game” are in for a thrilling surprise as the show’s iconic Go Go Wa doll, known in the series as Younghee, returns to Thailand – this time accompanied by her new companion, Cheolsu.

The towering figures are the centrepiece of an immersive public installation at Lan Khon Mueang, where visitors are invited to participate in a real-life version of the show’s famous skipping rope game.

The event marks the upcoming launch of “Squid Game” Season 3, set to be the final chapter of the record-breaking series.

The installation follows a wave of large-scale outdoor art projects across Bangkok, including the recent 18-metre KAWS “Companion” display at Sanam Luang that drew thousands of spectators.

This latest initiative is a collaboration between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and Netflix.

Younghee first made a splash in Thailand late last year, arriving dramatically by boat on the Chao Phraya River to promote the series premiere.

Her return, however, brings something entirely new: Cheolsu, a fellow character from the show, joins her for the first time.

Standing at 12 metres tall, the dolls are now officially the largest of their kind in the world, making Thailand the only country to host this unique interactive experience.

The event, titled “Final Game Comes to Life,” coincides with the global premiere of “Squid Game” Season 3 on June 27, 2025.

For the first time, the final game of the series will be recreated in a public space, giving fans a chance to step into the world of “Squid Game” and test their reflexes under the looming gaze of the two dolls.

The activity will run from June 28 to July 6, 2025, at Lan Khon Mueang, in front of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration building near the Giant Swing. Entry is free of charge.

The BMA says the initiative supports its ongoing mission to make contemporary art accessible to the public while enhancing Bangkok’s profile as a leading cultural and tourist destination.
