GrabCoins Replaces GrabRewards For A Smarter Loyalty Experience

Grab’s move to unveil GrabCoins as the successor to GrabRewards marks a strategic shift in how millions of people navigate the platform’s loyalty ecosystem, amid rapidly-evolving competition in digital services. By giving its rewards currency a next-gen identity, it opens the path to an interaction that offers a natural extension for every ride, meal, or purchase.

The rollout of GrabCoins means an easier earn-and-redeem model and a handy checkout option for food-order promotions, with ride-hailing support to follow. Intended to enhance engagement over time, the solution is further strengthened thanks to innovative ventures like GrabUnlimited and GrabVIP, helping yield broader customer value around the region.

As GrabRewards evolves into GrabCoins, the loyalty system will merge into the expanded network, giving users a chance to sample multiple services and partner categories. There are seven main markets, including Thailand, joining this new launch, which is expected to deliver a more unified incentive program aimed at increasing longer-lasting participation.

The first of the two photos above shows K. Panomkorn Jirasatienpong, Head of Marketing for Grab Thailand, on the left, with K. Arisa Lorthongpaisarn, Director of Demand Planning, Growth and Monetization at the enterprise. Together, they are spearheading this initiative, driving the implementation of the GrabCoins campaign across the promising Thai market.

GrabCoins also brings coherence to the loyalty scheme, displacing the prior points format with a simpler rewards collection and claim setup users can recognise with minimal effort. GrabUnlimited subscribers now earn from the various services at a consistent pace, while claims convert reliably at 20 GrabCoins per baht, providing a much smoother experience.

Convenience plays an equally significant role, as the new instant-discount feature permits members to assign GrabCoins directly at checkout — a huge improvement over the older, multi-step redemption flow. This functionality will launch via GrabFood and GrabMart first, followed by integrated ride-hailing early next year to produce a fully streamlined process.

Amplifying the value proposition, Grab is introducing “GrabCoins Power Up,” a thrilling set of bonus-earning opportunities conceived to reward frequent patrons and broaden usage across the firm’s network. Exchanges including ride bookings, airport transfers, and group food orders provide higher GrabCoin payouts, adding a playful touch to everyday activity.

In celebration of this release, Grab Thailand has a two-month “More Use, More Value With GrabCoins” initiative that enhances both earning and claiming potential. Users can gather 500 GrabCoins per completed transaction on key services and unlock tremendous drinks from leading brands, such as ChaTraMue, Cafe Amazon, Oh Juice, Jian Cha, and KOI Thé.

Advancing into the next era of loyalty evolution, GrabCoins elevates the Grab app to offer clearer value, smooth redemption, and increased day-to-day relevance among customers throughout the region.
