The Department of Tourism is celebrating the global release of “Jurassic World: Rebirth” (2025), the latest installment in the blockbuster franchise, which was filmed extensively in Thailand during June and July 2024.
With a production budget exceeding 400 million baht, the film is already drawing international attention to the country’s cinematic potential and natural beauty.
The movie highlights spectacular locations across three southern provinces, including Krabi, Phang Nga, and Trang, where Thailand’s lush rainforests, pristine beaches, and dramatic waterfalls serve as a backdrop for the dinosaur-filled adventure.
According to officials, the production created jobs for more than 2,245 Thai workers, including crew members and local service providers.
Tourism officials noted that the film’s production took advantage of Thailand’s generous film incentive scheme, which offers a 20% cash rebate to foreign productions.
This initiative has been credited with attracting numerous international film projects, strengthening the local economy and reinforcing Thailand’s position as a premier global filming destination.
Key filming locations include Khao Phanom Bencha National Park and Huai To Waterfall in Krabi, Koh Kradan in Trang, and the renowned Ao Phang Nga National Park.
These picturesque sites were chosen for their tropical appeal and cinematic potential, offering the perfect setting for the franchise’s thrilling storyline.
Set for worldwide release on July 2, the film is expected to provide a significant tourism boost by spotlighting some of Thailand’s lesser-known destinations.
Areas such as Ao Luek and Ban Bakan village in Krabi, which feature prominently in the film, are already anticipating increased interest from international visitors.
Industry experts predict that the film’s global exposure will lead to a surge in hotel bookings and greater demand for local tour operators and transport services.
The Department of Tourism said this would be a welcome development for communities in the featured regions.
“Jurassic World: Rebirth” stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, and Rupert Friend, and continues the legacy of the hugely popular franchise.
With its stunning visuals and high-profile cast, the film is expected to bring renewed global focus to Thailand’s natural attractions while making a lasting impact on both its film and tourism sectors.
