Kenny G Set To Make Thai Debut Performace in Hua Hin

Grammy-award winning and iconic American jazz saxophonist Kenny G will be coming to Hua Hin Beach for a jazz and blues performance. It will be his first ever show in Thailand.

The International Jazz & Blues Festival 2022 is set to take place on May 7th in Hua Hin’s True Sport Arena. The well-loved seaside town, around a two-hour drive south of Bangkok, hopes that the event will demonstrate to the world that Thailand’s reopening to the global tourism industry is well underway.

“Wonderful Night Kenny G” will be the climax of the popular event – the 90-minute live jazz concert by Kenny G, aka Kenneth Bruce Gorelick, is sure to draw many fans as he is a hugely popular figure amongst Thai jazz enthusiasts.

The smooth jazz musician, who is 65, was born in Seattle, Washington. His 1992 album “Breathless” went on to become the best-selling instrumental album of all time, selling over 15 million copies worldwide.

A number of hit singles were featured on the album, including “Forever in Love,” which won a Grammy Award.

Hua Hin, with its laid-back vibe, sophisticated hotels, and fantastic restaurant scene along with its attractive beach, is an ideal destination for anybody looking for a relaxing vacation that’s filled with sun, sea and sand.

The Hua Hin Jazz Festival, founded in 2001, centers on dynamic live jazz performances by local newcomers and experienced jazz performers.

During its time, it has allowed festivalgoers to hear jazz music in unexpected places, such as hotel lobbies and beach bars, while also encouraging attendees to try new dishes, visit new venues, and meet new people.

The festival has not taken place over the last three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is recognised for being one of Thailand’s greatest family-friendly music events, and is returning this year with a fantastic lineup.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand and event sponsors such as Singha Corporation, are certain that the sound of saxophones, trumpets, solid rhythms, and sunshine will prove to be the ideal mix to attract music fans and vacationers to the exciting resort.

Local jazz bands and musicians such as DRAGONFLY, Melodic Corner, and Mellow Motif will light up the stage in addition to Kenny G.

Yamin, a blues band based in Hua Hin & The SOS (The Symbolic Of Star) will close the Hua Hin Music Festival 2022.

Due to Covid regulations, the International Jazz & Blues Festival 2022 will have a capacity of 3,500 participants.

Those in attendance must be properly vaccinated and produce documentation of a negative antigen test within 72 hours of the music festival.
