Kimpton Maa-Lai’s “Chilli Fest” To Return for 3rd Edition in April

Get ready for the spice of your life! The popular Chilli Fest is set to return to Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, offering a scorching array of culinary delights and fiery entertainment.

This annual event, now in its third year, promises an even hotter experience with a stunning lineup of dishes from Bangkok’s top restaurants and MICHELIN-starred chefs.

From savory to scorching, the menu features globally inspired spicy dishes crafted by culinary giants. For instance, Chef Ton Thitid Tassanakajohn of ZAABNIRAN will dazzle attendees with his Tom Yum Noodles, a piquant dish made with a blend of three Thai chilies.

Meanwhile, Chef Thav Phouthavong from 80/20 is set to present a spicy, Burmese-inspired Red Curry alongside his unique Pig Cheeks & Trotter Larb Nuggets.

Chef Vicky Cheng brings a taste of Hong Kong to Bangkok with his restaurant, K by Vicky Cheng. He will serve up his famous Mala Chicken Noodle and Sichuan Chilli Pork.

In another corner of the world, Chef Hari Nayak of JHOL will entice guests with his coastal Indian Piri Piri Mushroom and Berhampur Fried Chicken.

The festival’s atmosphere is akin to a vibrant, bustling marketplace, set against a lush, green backdrop. Food prices start at just THB 80, making it an affordable adventure for everyone.

The highlight for many, the chili-eating competition, promises to deliver tear-inducing levels of heat, with contestants facing off against peppers reaching 2,200,000 Scoville units.

Aside from the heat, Chilli Fest cools things down with a fantastic array of drinks. Craft beers from Beervana, artisanal liqueurs from Giffard, and elegant champagnes from Drappier are just some of the beverages on offer.

The event also contributes to a good cause, with a portion of the proceeds going to Scholars of Sustenance Thailand, which fights hunger by redistributing surplus food to those in need.

This year’s Chilli Fest is not just an opportunity to sample fiery dishes but also a chance to engage with the community and support local chefs and artists.

Attendees can get chili tattoos, enjoy fire shows, and shop for exclusive hot sauces. The event runs from 2PM to 9PM at Urban Oasis, with tickets priced at THB 300, including a complimentary drink.
