Lumpini Park Turns Into One Piece “Grand Line” Adventure

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has partnered with Netflix to transform Lumpini Park into the “Grand Line” as part of celebrations for the upcoming release of “One Piece” Season 2. The themed event will run from March 8 to March 15 around the park’s lake area.

Through this collaboration with the global streaming platform, one of Bangkok’s most iconic parks will temporarily be reimagined as an adventurous world inspired by the hit series.

The promotional activities will take place simultaneously in several major cities worldwide, including locations in Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and Australia.

Thailand’s edition of the event, however, is expected to stand out for its larger scale and distinctive “Thailand Grand Style” presentation.

One of the main attractions will see Laboon, the beloved whale from the series, set to take over the park’s central lake.

Visitors will be able to view a giant floating Laboon installation positioned prominently in the middle of the water, recreating one of the show’s most memorable moments and evoking the excitement of embarking on a journey along the Grand Line.

A range of pirate-themed activities will also be organised throughout the park, including:

– Sail Out to Find Laboon: Visitors can rent pedal boats to approach the massive whale installation on the lake.

– Meet the Captain: Fans can take selfies with popular characters such as Monkey D. Luffy and Tony Tony Chopper.

– Grand Line Picnic: Guests can unwind in specially arranged green spaces while enjoying an atmosphere inspired by the pirate adventure.

Organisers say the initiative goes beyond a simple promotional campaign for the Netflix series. It is also designed to create a new check-in destination for Bangkok, encouraging both tourists and fans of “One Piece” to visit the city, capture photos and share their experiences on social media.

Visitors are encouraged to come dressed for the adventure, cameras in hand, and take part in what organisers describe as a new legend in the making.
