Thailand Smart City Expo 2024, held in Bangkok, is a premier event presenting innovative smart city solutions for ASEAN’s urban future. With the Thai capital hosting the fascinating show, it further establishes itself as a pioneer in smart city development within the region, assembling innovators, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss key urban living topics.
ASEAN has prioritized smart city initiatives to promote sustainable growth and to raise the quality of life in its rapidly urbanizing areas. Regional collaboration plays an important role in developing interconnected smart city ecosystems, as reflected by this three-day event.
For anyone wishing to keep abreast of the latest developments regarding technologies in this field, then do consider attending the super expo at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), Hall 3-4, running from Wednesday, November 6, to Friday, November 8.
A Firm Focus on Advanced Warning Systems Technology This Year
The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) in conjunction with NCC Management and Development, one of the country’s top exhibition organisers, host the Thailand Smart City Expo 2024, aiming to bring knowledge and understanding about smart city development.
In 2024, Thailand plans to grow its smart city initiatives by adding 15 more cities, reaching a total of 45 nationwide, which is set to bring over USD 1.7 billion in potential income from both government and private sectors, and will establish a strong foundation for sustained investment in the future, with such a robust amount of backing coming at this early stage.
One part of smart city management that is hugely important is the use of efficient warning systems, crucial for creating safer metropolises as they advance towards becoming more livable smart cities. This year’s show will take a close look at the various aspects of them.
Effective warning systems help reduce risks to life and property during emergencies, thus making urban life safer by mitigating both natural and human-made hazards. Whether it is a system designed for disaster warnings, crime warnings, or environmental alerts, it is not just public safety that is raised – damage from emergencies will likely be greatly reduced.
As you can see above, there will be a number of companies at the expo who are involved in the warning systems fields: DTC’s Smart Pole system has blended streetlights, weather monitoring, and real-time data analysis, while ICE SMART produces water level alert tech.
City planners and developers will find ZETA’s solutions particularly intriguing. This cutting-edge system provides the longest range for wireless alert technology, securing even the most remote urban areas and contributing to a safer, more connected city infrastructure.
Engage in a Dynamic Conference, Seminar, and Discussion Lineup
The expo is divided into seven zones – Smart Telecom, Smart Energy, Smart Living, Smart Industry & Retail, Smart Mobility, Smart Environment, and Smart Healthcare, and there will also be over 300 participating enterprises exhibiting, including numerous foreign entities.
Visitors have a full program of conferences and seminars to join, featuring highlights such as “Building Smart Cities: Integrating ITS and CCTV for Seamless Mobility”, and “The Role of IOT and Big Data in Transforming Cities for Sustainability”. Moreover, “Impact of AI and Machine Learning on Energy Efficiency for Smart Buildings” is another central focal point.
Region-wise, ASEAN is experiencing rapid urbanisation and this is fueling rapid economic growth. Governments are increasingly turning to technology to manage and monitor their cities, exalting the ways in which they operate and how people live, work, play and learn.
An area where the ASEAN region is excelling in the smart city sphere is transportation, by using advanced technology like IOT and AI to streamline traffic flow, promote sustainable transit, and generate real-time data, for more efficient and convenient travel experiences.
Chinese flying taxi company eHang Holdings, and its partner in Thailand, Sky Image Tech, will demonstrate pilotless eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) vehicles, as can be seen above. DJI drones will also be on show equipped with traffic monitoring capabilities along with a large number of the latest innovations from within the field of urban mobility.
The enthralling expo at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) opens daily at 10am until 6pm from November 6 through to November 8. You may wish to check out the Thailand Smart City Expo Facebook page and website should you require further details.
