The StandardX is expanding its presence in the Asia-Pacific region with the upcoming opening of The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit, slated for November this year.
After launching its first location in Melbourne, Australia, earlier this year, this second establishment dives into Bangkok’s art district with a dynamic art gallery among its 62 rooms and two lively dining concepts.
The StandardX epitomizes the thrill of travel and a break from the usual with its unique approach and style.
Acting as the audacious younger version of The Standard, The StandardX focuses on intentionally minimalist rooms, cultural programming, and intuitive hospitality.
Located in Bangkok’s historic district by the Chao Phraya River, close to Silpakorn University, which is renowned for its arts program, The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit offers a vibrant cultural hub.
The area around the hotel thrives with a mix of cafés, bars, and restaurants, along with a bustling music scene.
The hotel features the 10 10 Art Space, presenting both temporary and permanent collections by celebrated local artists, starting with works from Gongkan and MRKreme.
These artists have been tasked with bringing their distinctive, striking designs to the hotel’s façades facing the street and the river.
The hotel will also launch an artist-in-residence program aimed at fostering new talent through workshops, events, and discussions, fostering a vibrant community exchange.
The design of The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit results from a partnership between The StandardX’s internal team and Studio Freehand.
The hotel provides a variety of guest room sizes, from the snug Cozy King and Cozy Twin to the King On The River and the expansive King Of Kings.
The dining offerings mirror those found at its Melbourne location, with Bang, an all-day dining Thai restaurant serving innovative dishes using local ingredients.
Highlighted menu items include Grilled chicken (gor lae) with roti, Pong-neng fried mussels, and Som tum Chao Phraya.
Next to Bang is The Box, a retail space offering a wonderful selection of essentials, snacks, beverages, and local products.
Committed to sustainability and local community support, the hotel collaborates with farmers in Pua District, Nan Province, to develop coffee varieties available throughout the property.
The Roof, located on the sixth floor, offers a menu inspired by bold Mexican flavors, enjoyed beside a cozy pool with views over the Chao Phraya.
Special opening promotions include a 15% discount on accommodations and a complimentary breakfast for two for bookings made before December 10. For more details, visit the hotel’s website.
