Two Thai Actors Join ‘The White Lotus’ Cast Filming in Thailand

The third season of the popular dark comedy-drama “The White Lotus” is scheduled for filming in Thailand this March, with two Thai actors set to join the cast.

Next month, the production team will travel to Thailand for filming at various locations, including Bangkok, Koh Samui, and Phuket.

This move comes after HBO’s announcement about collaborating with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to support the show’s filming and production.

Created by Mike White, “The White Lotus” is an American dark comedy-drama that focuses on the interactions and underlying complexities of guests and staff at the eponymous fictional resort chain.

The series, which has garnered critical acclaim and Emmy awards, is noted for featuring a new set of guests at a different White Lotus resort each season.

Speculations about which hotel might represent the fictional White Lotus in Thailand lean towards a Four Seasons property.

This hypothesis is influenced by the first two seasons, which were set at Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii and Italy, respectively. Notably, the Four Seasons hotel chain has establishments in Bangkok and Koh Samui as well.

The cast for the third season was announced last Friday, with Leslie Bibb, Jason Issacs, Michelle Monaghan, and Parker Posey confirmed to star. Natasha Rothwell will also return from the first season.

Beyond boosting Thailand’s tourism, the series will feature Thai actors Dom Hetrakul and Maethi ‘Tayme’ Thapthimthong, both of whom have experience in Hollywood projects.

Dom, known for his extensive work in local TV series and movies, gained international recognition for his role as Aran in the 2008 film “Bangkok Dangerous.”

Maethi first entered the entertainment industry as a contestant on the tenth season of Academy Fantasia, later transitioning to acting.

Both actors are set to appear in one episode each in the upcoming third season of “The White Lotus,” expected to release in 2025.
