Koen Vermeersch Appointed Ascott Thonglor General Manager

CapitaLand’s wholly-owned, serviced residences business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), has appointed Mr. Koen Vermeersch as General Manager of Ascott Thonglor Bangkok.

Mr. Vermeersch is also the area manager in Bangkok and has worked with The Ascott Limited for eight years in China and Thailand.

Before joining the Thai business unit’s staff six years ago, he held key positions in several companies, including City Asset Manager for Savills Beijing, City Manager of Tianjin for The Ascott Limited, Country Asset Management Director of SK China, and General Manager for a 300-unit luxury villas compound in Beijing with CBRE.

Regarding his educational background, Mr. Vermeersch has Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and a Master’s degree in Marketing from Melbourne University, a Master’s degree in European Policies and Politics and a Real Estate Management Certificate from China, and a Property Management and Hospitality Certificate from Frankfurt, Germany.

Ascott Limited’s now-general-manager has a Belgian nationality and is fluent in Dutch, French, Mandarin, and English.

Mr. Vermeersch’s goal is to provide unique services and experiences for guests through local culture. He also looks forward to building quality teams with the necessary skill and passion for delivering enjoyable “home away from home” experiences, focusing on friendliness, quality of service, and personalized service at the new Ascott Thonglor Bangkok.

Set to open in May 2022, Ascott Thonglor Bangkok is the newest addition to Thailand’s residences and serviced hotels portfolio. It’s located on Sukhumvit main road, the capital’s upscale and lively neighborhood, just a five-minute walk from the BTS Thong Lo SkyTrain station.

The 452-room serviced residence and hotel offers accommodation options that include studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom categories. Its facilities also house an infinity pool, fitness center, children’s playroom, sauna, an All Day Dining restaurant, and more.
