TAT Launch Travel Deals for Expats Residing in Thailand

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), hotels, and airlines targets their new offerings to foreign residents in their latest attempt to stimulate domestic tourism during the coronavirus pandemic.

These special offers consist of Expat Travel Bonuses. According to the announcement, all foreigners and their families residing in Thailand are eligible.

Recipients would receive a 1,000 baht discount per night booked at any of more than 300 participating hotels in destinations across the kingdom. The more nights they stay, the higher the discount they could receive, as explained in the promotion announcement.

This offer applies to stays at participating hotels that belong to the Thailand Hotel Association (THA) and travel on Bangkok Airways, AirAsia, and Nok Air.

Expats can choose the hotel of their choice as long as they are licensed and certified THA members.

Subsequently, foreigners must contact the hotel directly and present their passport when making the reservation as proof of their expatriate status to receive the discount –which is 1,000 bath for each night of the room reserved. Besides, according to the announcement, the promotion is valid until December 31 of this year.

Up to 50% discount on airfares and packages is also offered for all domestic flights. People will receive discount coupons per room and night starting at 900 baht for direct reverse with the participating hotel or airline.

Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi, president of the Thai Hotel Association, said: “With very limited travel from overseas, Thai hotels need all the support they can get, so there’s never been a better time for expats to help out and enjoy a great value vacation at the same time.”

“I am happy that the association can be a part of this campaign,” she added.

Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, TAT deputy governor for international marketing Asia and South Pacific, also said: “In Thailand, the expat market has great potential, so we hope this campaign will encourage more expats to explore Thailand and show support for our hospitality industry.”

Limited redemptions are available throughout the campaign period and are all on a first-come, first-served basis, as advertised.
