Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and mass-transit operators will extend service hours across multiple transport networks on New Year’s Eve, with trains, buses and boats operating into the early hours to support travellers attending countdown festivities and overnight temple activities.
Officials confirmed that rail systems and BMTA buses will run past midnight on December 31, 2025, with final services available until 2am on January 1, 2026.
All urban rail networks will extend their final departures to 2am on January 1, 2026. The extension covers the following systems:
– BTS Green Line and Gold Line
– MRT Blue, Purple, Yellow and Pink lines
– State Railway Red Line (Don Mueang–Rangsit–Taling Chan)
– Airport Rail Link
BTS services will continue operating beyond midnight, with additional late-night departures scheduled from key interchange stations.
Final trains will depart from Siam Station toward all destinations, while both the Sukhumvit and Silom lines will continue running services from their terminal stations.
The Gold Line will also extend evening operations from Charoen Nakhon and Khlong San.
BMTA bus services will likewise operate until 2am, with extra trips added to accommodate festival-period demand.
Bus routes serving major countdown destinations include CentralWorld, Siam Paragon, One Bangkok, Future Park Rangsit, ICONSIAM, Mega Bangna and Asiatique.
Additional services will be deployed on routes connecting to temples hosting New Year prayer gatherings, including Wat Saket (Golden Mount), Wat Phra Si Mahathat, Wat Pho, Wat Bowonniwet, Wat Benchamabophit, Wat Thep Leela and Wat Rai Khing.
Thai Smile Boat electric services will continue operating along the Siam Charoen Nakhon–Asiatique–Sathorn–ICONSIAM–River City route. The final outbound service will depart at 1am, with the final return trip scheduled for 1:20am.
Park-and-ride facilities at MRT stations on the Blue, Purple and Orange lines — including Khlong Ban Ma and RMRTA locations — will remain open 24 hours.
Selected BTS Green Line car parks at Khu Khot, Yaek Kor Por Or and Kheha stations will remain open until 3am on January 1, 2026.
Yellow Line parking at Si Iam will operate until 1am, while Pink Line parking at Min Buri will be available until 2am on January 2, 2026. Free parking will be offered during designated periods on the Yellow and Pink lines.
Authorities also announced that several expressways — including the Chaloem Maha Nakhon, Si Rat and Udon Ratthaya expressways — will be toll-free from the night of December 31, 2025 through January 1, 2026, to facilitate New Year travel.
