Police in Bangkok arrested a British man after discovering more than nine kilograms of crystal methamphetamine hidden inside a pink rolling suitcase at a hotel in Sukhumvit.
According to Metropolitan Police Division 5, officers received a tip-off from an informant that a foreigner was staying at a hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11 with a large quantity of drugs, waiting to deliver them to customers on September 30.
A joint arrest team, supported by Lumpini Police Station, moved in to investigate the hotel. Staff confirmed that a foreign man matching the description had checked in, and CCTV footage later pinpointed his room.
Acting under authority from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), police obtained approval to search the room. Hotel staff accompanied officers as they entered.
Inside, they found the suspect identified as Mr. Wilson, a 23-year-old British national, along with his suitcase placed on the bed.
A search revealed crystal methamphetamine weighing a total of 9,152.3 grams, packaged inside ten tea bags. All evidence was seized.
Wilson reportedly confessed that the drugs were supplied by a British man he only knew as “Snoopy.” He claimed he was paid 20,000 baht to hold the suitcase and deliver it to customers.
Police charged Wilson with distributing Category 1 narcotics, specifically methamphetamine, by possession for the purpose of sale. Authorities said the case will now be pursued further by investigators at Lumpini Police Station.
