Large crowds gathered to join Bangkok Pride Parade 2026 yesterday as the city marked one of its most vibrant annual celebrations of diversity and equality.
Held under the theme “PATCH THE WORLD WITH PRIDE,” the event highlighted Bangkok’s growing role as a regional centre for Pride, while also supporting its ambition to become a Global Pride Hub and future host of WorldPride 2030.
The parade began at 4:30pm on Sunday, May 31, with a large-scale procession that brought together LGBTQIAN+ communities, allies, performers, organisations, and spectators from across the city.
This year’s edition followed a new route from Chong Nonsi Canal Park towards Silom Road, expanding the scale of the event and placing one of Bangkok’s most recognisable districts at the heart of the festivities.
A key feature was the blend of contemporary Pride culture with Thai local identity, including Isan molam performances that added a distinctive regional rhythm to the programme.
Silom was transformed into a “Rainbow Road” for the occasion, with a rainbow flag stretching more than 500 metres across the street as the procession moved through the area.
The full route covered 4.8 kilometres from Chong Nonsi to Silom and Rama I Road, creating a major public display of inclusion, visibility, and cultural expression.
Ahead of the event, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration announced temporary traffic closures to ensure public safety and support crowd management during the parade.
Rama I Road, from Pathumwan Intersection to Chaloem Phao Intersection, was temporarily closed from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, with motorists advised to avoid the area during that period.
