AIS PLAY Named Tokyo 2020 Olympics’ Official Thai Broadcaster

AIS PLAY announced that it would broadcast the world’s most important sporting event after winning the broadcast rights to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

It will be the official broadcaster to offer live coverage of each televised tournament at every event at all locations in the Japanese capital designated to host the games.

AIS PLAY platform is the only place where Thais can enjoy a world-class sports festival while cheering on the athletes of the Thai national team.

Plus, it offers a full program of highlights and replays.

Pratthana Leelapanang, AIS Consumer Business Director, confirmed yesterday that AIS PLAY had acquired the rights to be the “Official Broadcaster for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in Thailand.”

Events will be streamed live from July 21, with the opening ceremony on July 23.

Live broadcasts will be available for free from any network in all the platform’s channels, both on websites and on mobile phones.

Besides, the company has partnered with major media partners that allow Thai viewers to access the broadcasts.

Some of the websites would be Khao Sod, Siam Sport, Manager, Matichon, and PPTV HD.

AIS subscribers can also enjoy exclusive content through its mobile app, SAMSUNG Smart TV, Apple TV, the AIS PLAYBOX set-top box, and the aisplay.ais.co.th website.

“AIS will be the medium conveying every Thai person’s hopes for their Thai Olympic heroes, that they can both achieve victory and be safe from the pandemic,” Pratthana said.

“For our part, we will be aiming to capture every memorable image from these historic Games for our Thai viewers as best we can,” Pratthana added.
