Autopsy Underway in Pattaya Transwoman’s Murder Probe

Forensic police are still pending a complete examination of the body of a transwoman, reportedly murdered by a Chinese visitor and missing some organs. Meanwhile, her relatives and peers in Pattaya are distressed by negative remarks about the victim.

Pattaya police have transferred the body of Woranan Pannacha, aged 25, to the Police General Hospital in Bangkok for an autopsy to establish the cause of death and to search for DNA evidence, after reports surfaced that she had resisted the Chinese man before being strangled.

Investigators are also directing forensic teams to analyze a cut in her abdomen to determine whether it was inflicted before or after her death.

In the meantime, Pattaya police have applied for a court order to continue holding the Chinese suspect, Fu Tongyung, aged 42, as they continue their investigation.

Fu Tongyung was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Saturday. He confessed to strangling Woranan in his Pattaya rental on the previous Friday, following her refusal to engage in sexual activities despite his payment.

A regular visitor from Kunming, he also admitted to slicing the body from the neck down to the genitals, claiming he wanted to “play” with it.

Initial reports indicated that the heart and silicone implants had been removed from the body.

Pattaya police noted that the left lung was missing, although the suspect denied removing it. Authorities are relying on forensic experts in Bangkok to clarify this aspect.

Pattaya authorities also interviewed Uan Pannacha, the 61-year-old father of the deceased, on Monday. He expressed his family’s deep grief, originating from Nong Khai in the northeast, exacerbated by hurtful online comments about his child’s death.

These online remarks incited a demonstration by transgender individuals on a beachfront road in Pattaya on Sunday night, where community leaders sought to identify and locate the commenters, some of whom might be local.
