HM the Queen Joins Bangkok’s Prestigious Half Marathon Race

Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana participated in the 8th “Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2025,” joining world record holder Eliud Kipchoge to promote global tourism through one of Thailand’s most high-profile sporting events.

The Queen completed the Half Marathon distance of 21.1 km in an impressive time of 2:13:40. The event, themed Run Through the City, Season 8,” featured a scenic course designed to showcase both the historic and modern landmarks of Bangkok.

More than 20,000 runners from around the world took part, making it one of the largest international races ever held in the capital.

At 2:15am on 30 November 2025, Her Majesty arrived at the starting point near the Pathumwan Princess Hotel. She sounded the air horn to officially begin the Half Marathon before setting off on the course alongside Kipchoge.

The route began on Phaya Thai Road, in front of MBK Center, and continued through key city districts. The final stretch ran along Ratchadamnoen Nai Avenue toward the finish line at Sanam Luang — the heart of the capital.

After finishing the race, Her Majesty graciously granted an audience to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who presented her with the commemorative medal.

She then proceeded to the Ceremonial Pavilion at Sanam Luang to award trophies to the four winners of the Half Marathon categories.

The marathon was co-organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Sports Authority of Thailand, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

Deputy Prime Minister Captain Thamanat Prompow also presented Her Majesty with the official finisher shirt following the ceremony.

Her Majesty later made her way to the starting point of the 10-kilometre race, where she sounded the air horn to officially launch the next run — continuing her role in championing Thailand’s spirit of sportsmanship and international tourism.
