Israeli authorities are urging their citizens in Thailand to stay alert following indications of potential threats targeting them during the upcoming Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan, according to the Times of Israel.
The Mossad and the National Security Council have issued warnings after receiving information from Thai police about possible plans for a terrorist attack against Israelis in the country.
The warnings specifically pertain to the well-known Full Moon Party, a monthly event that attracts many Israelis, as reported by Ynet, the digital platform of the Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
Koh Phangan and its festivities are notably popular among young Israelis.
Recent days have seen heightened security measures by Thai police due to credible threats, reports Ynet.
Following these revelations, the Mossad and National Security Council have disclosed that, in collaboration with Thai security forces, they have prevented several incidents in recent months.
Since October 7 and the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Iran and its allies have stepped up efforts to target Israelis and Jewish communities globally.
Despite these concerns, the National Security Council has not altered its threat assessment for Thailand, as noted by the Times of Israel.
Nonetheless, it advises Israelis to stay vigilant, avoid publicly displaying signs of Israeli or Jewish identity, steer clear of large events frequented by Israelis, keep travel plans off social media, and report any suspicious activities to local security forces.
It emphasizes the importance of being cautious and maintaining a low profile to prevent any potential hostile actions targeting Israelis or Jews.
