Police in Pattaya are trying to locate two young Russian siblings who have been missing since leaving their home early Sunday morning.
Their mother, 40-year-old Zarina Nazimova, reported the disappearance to Huay Yai police in Bang Lamung district on Tuesday.
She told officers that her son Roman Nazimova, 17, and daughter Diana Nazimova, 22, left their home at Bristol Park Pattaya housing estate in tambon Huay Yai at around 4am on Sunday.
The pair were travelling together on a motorcycle and had their mobile phones with them. Their mother initially believed they were making a brief trip to a nearby convenience store, but they did not return home.
Ms Zarina has lived at the housing estate since 2018, while Roman and Diana moved to Thailand to live with her in 2021. Both siblings speak Russian and English but are unable to communicate in Thai.
Police reviewing CCTV footage confirmed that the pair left the estate on a black Honda ADV160 motorcycle bearing Chon Buri licence plate 4 Kor Sor 6379. Footage showed them greeting security guards as they passed the entrance.
Investigators later traced the motorcycle heading towards the toll plaza of the Map Ta Phut–Na Jomtien motorway at about 4:21am, where the siblings made a U-turn.
They then stopped on a frontage road near another motorcyclist and appeared to speak with the rider.
At approximately 4:31am, both motorcycles were seen travelling along the frontage road near Wat Bang Yai. Two minutes later, the siblings reached a traffic light beneath the Ban Sak Ngaeo motorway bridge.
Police said that was the last known sighting of Roman and Diana, and efforts are continuing to determine where they went after leaving the area.
