Paweena Jariyathitipong, President of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, said on Sunday, March 22 that Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang International Airport have once again brought recognition to Thailand after Skytrax announced its World’s Best Airport 2026 rankings.
According to the results, Suvarnabhumi Airport was ranked 36th globally, improving from 39th place last year.
The airport also secured 4th place in the Best Airport 2026 category for handling 60 to 70 million passengers annually, reflecting ongoing improvements in infrastructure and service quality.
Meanwhile, Don Mueang International Airport—one of the key hubs supporting passenger traffic in Bangkok—was ranked 7th worldwide in the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline Terminals category, rising from 8th place in the previous year.
The rankings were based on feedback from travellers worldwide collected through the World Airport Survey conducted by Skytrax, a leading UK-based aviation research and consultancy firm specialising in evaluating airline and airport service standards.
The results highlight the airports’ ability to efficiently manage high passenger volumes while maintaining internationally recognised service standards.
They also reflect continued improvements across multiple operational areas, including the integration of technology to streamline passenger journeys and enhancements to overall service quality.
Key areas of development include faster service processes, improved cleanliness, strengthened safety measures and better staff service.
Paweena said AOT remains committed to transforming its airports beyond transit points into comprehensive travel hubs and world-class service destinations.
She added that the goal is to ensure passengers experience attentive service at every stage of their journey, delivered through World Class Hospitality standards that blend Thai identity with international benchmarks, creating a travel experience that is warm, impressive and memorable.
