The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is captivating visitors with an array of exceptional shopping experiences and tourism services through the “Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges” project. This initiative will take place from November 1 to December 16 this year.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, remarked, “In response to the government’s tourism stimulus policy, TAT is continuously implementing strategies and promotions to stimulate tourism recovery.”
“Emphasis is placed on boosting tourist spending, especially in the Hidden Gem Cities. In this connection, the Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges project is aimed at boosting foreign arrivals to achieve this year’s target of 36.7 million visitors.”
Under the “WOW! Thailand Passport Privileges” campaign, this project serves as a fundamental component to augment tourism industry revenues, stimulate the economy, and bolster the esteemed reputation of Thai tourism services.
The project offers exclusive benefits aimed at enhancing the travel experiences in Thailand for tourists from both nearby markets such as China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Malaysia, as well as distant locales like the UK, US, Canada, and Europe.
The Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges includes four main activities:
– The “Must Do Souvenirs: From Heart to Hands” activity distributes 10,000 souvenirs inspired by the ‘Must-Do in Thailand’ theme to international visitors at Thailand’s major airports including Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, and Phuket.
– The “WOW Thailand: Must Do Package” activity provides discounts and exclusive perks for the first 10,000 international tourists who register online. These tourists can utilize their privileges at various participating venues.
– The “WOW Thailand: Lucky Number” activity awards 20 holiday packages, collectively worth 700,000 Baht, to every 10,000th tourist, from the 10,000th to the 200,000th visitor. Each package, valued at 35,000 Baht, includes domestic flight tickets and discounts on lodging, dining, and activities.
– The “WOW Thailand: Big Surprise!” activity presents a grand prize worth 300,000 Baht to a lucky participant who fills out a questionnaire and is chosen through a random drawing.
Mr. Chamnan Srisawat, President of the Tourism Council of Thailand, stated, “The Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges project offers discounts and special deals at more than 300 establishments.”
“This includes department stores, shopping centers, credit cards, airlines, restaurants and diners, accommodations, and health and beauty centers. Tourists can simply present their passports to receive special privileges.”
Notable participants in this initiative include Central Sriracha Shopping Mall, Sri Panwa Hotel, Phuket Luxury Pool Villa, Best Western Patong Beach Hotel, InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit, Masumi Spa Chiang Mai, Amara Bangkok, and Kacha Resort Koh Chang.
Mrs. Saranya Boonyawattana, Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy of Airports of Thailand, said, “We are delighted to support the Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges project by assigning special areas for the souvenir giveaway booths at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang Airport, and Phuket Airport.”
