OnlyFans: Thai Couple Arrested for Sharing Sexual Content

On Monday night, Thai police arrested a young couple at a hotel in Bang Phli district for creating and sharing sexually explicit content through OnlyFans.

A 19-year-old woman, known online as Kai Nao, and her 20-year-old boyfriend Korakot were arrested for posting their sexual exploits on online platforms.

According to Maj. Gen. Karnpong Chairungrueng, from the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau, the couple was charged with producing and distributing “obscene” content.

OnlyFans creators reportedly admitted to sharing pornographic content, cyber police said, describing their actions as “very inappropriate.”

Authorities also announced they would not take legal action against the website owner, as it only allowed creators to post content online. However, the pair was arrested for abusing the platform, police stated.

Later, at a press conference, Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau’s commissioner Pol Lt Gen Kornchai Klaiklueng identified the woman as Suthanya Nakhonjinda and her boyfriend as Korakot Sarirat.

Pol Lt Gen Kornchai said the couple had started their online business in June and have earned at least 500,000 baht since then. He added that they kept 80% of the sum subscribers paid to the website for their sex videos.

The suspects confessed to having produced pornographic content for sale. However, they denied charges of putting sexually explicit videos or photos on a publicly accessible computer system.

The first charge the couple faces, established under the Criminal Code, carries a maximum penalty of three years in jail and/or a 60,000-baht fine. The second charge was brought under the Cybercrime Act, and the pair could be sentenced to five years in prison or fined 100,000 baht if found guilty.

The couple denied the latter charge, arguing that their content had been posted on a website exclusively accessible to paying subscribers, not to the general public, Pol Lt Gen Kornchai related.

However, the police consider that any person could access the content if they paid for it and plans to ask the Samut Prakan court to detain the couple for 12 more days to expand the investigation.

Yesterday, Royal Thai Police’s spokesperson, Col. Siriwat Deepor, warned the public that “Pornhubbers” or “sex creators” could face punishment for inappropriate content and behavior.

Meanwhile, police have faced backlash online for arresting OnlyFans creators rather than prosecuting “more serious crimes.”
