Ukrainian Arrested for Causing THB350,000 in Condo Damage

A Ukrainian woman has been arrested at Phuket International Airport after allegedly causing extensive damage to a condominium unit in the Wichit area. The incident led to property losses estimated at more than 350,000 baht.

The woman, identified as Anastasia Fidanian, was taken into custody by immigration officials shortly before 9am on the morning of May 10.

She was intercepted at the departure gate just as she was preparing to board a flight out of Thailand.

Shortly after her detention by immigration authorities, officers from Wichit Police Station arrived at the scene with an active arrest warrant. They formally placed her under arrest and transported her to the station for further legal procedures.

The arrest stems from a report filed on April 29, when police were notified about severe damage discovered inside a condominium unit.

The destruction included broken furniture, damaged electrical appliances, and significant harm to the walls and ceilings.

According to the condo owner, the unit had been rented to Fidanian. The landlord lodged a formal police complaint upon finding the unit in ruins.

Following the complaint, officers from Wichit Police launched an immediate investigation and worked in collaboration with immigration authorities to monitor Fidanian’s movements and prevent her from fleeing the country.

During interrogation, Fidanian reportedly admitted to vandalising the property. She claimed the act was driven by frustration after being refused a refund of her rental deposit.

The arrest was executed under the supervision of Pol Col Somsak Thongkliang, Superintendent of Wichit Police, in coordination with senior investigators and Phuket Immigration officials.
