Jane’s Addiction Cancels Tour Following On-Stage Band Fight

American rock band Jane’s Addiction has called off the remaining dates of their tour a few days after an onstage fight in Boston, Massachusetts.

This past Friday, the Los Angeles-based group abruptly ended their performance when lead singer Perry Farrell punched guitarist Dave Navarro.

The band announced on social media this Monday that they have “made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group.”

Perry Farrell later issued an apology to his bandmates, fans, and family following the onstage conflict that led to the cancellation of the remainder of their reunion tour.

In his statement, Farrell expressed, “This weekend has been incredibly challenging, and after some time and space to reflect, I realize it’s only appropriate to apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, as well as our fans, family, and friends for my behavior during Friday’s concert.”

He acknowledged, “Reaching my breaking point led to unforgivable actions, and I fully accept responsibility for the manner in which I handled the situation.”

Refunds for the canceled tour dates will be available at the original point of purchase.

There were 12 more shows scheduled across the United States, concluding in their hometown on October 16, before the cancellation.

Video circulating on social media from the Boston concert captures Farrell, aged 65, yelling at 57-year-old Navarro and striking him before venue staff intervened and escorted him offstage at the Leader Bank Pavilion.

Etty, Farrell’s wife, disclosed that the band members had been experiencing increasing “tension and animosity” night after night leading up to the brawl.

She also mentioned Farrell’s growing frustration with the loud volume levels during their performances.

Formed in 1985 in Los Angeles, Jane’s Addiction emerged as a notable force in the early alternative rock movement.

The lineup includes Farrell, Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Eric Avery.

The band recently came together again after a separation of over a decade. Among their popular tracks are “Just Because,” “Been Caught Stealing,” and “True Nature.”

Their discography comprises four albums: “Nothing’s Shocking” (1988), “Ritual de lo Habitual” (1990), “Strays” (2003), and “The Great Escape Artist” (2011).

In 2013, Jane’s Addiction was awarded a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.
