Meghan Markle Embraces Fresh Beginning in New Netflix Series

Meghan Markle celebrated a new “chapter” in her latest Netflix lifestyle show, with some perceiving her comments as a subtle critique of the royal family.

In the spotlight of her eight-part series titled “With Love, Meghan,” she offers a peek into the simple life she claims to enjoy with Prince Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet.

This series debuts as part of the couple’s substantial £100m contract with Netflix and follows the documentary “Harry & Meghan,” which attracted over 2.4 million viewers on its premiere day in December 2022.

Previously known for her role in the TV series “Suits,” Markle paused her acting career to marry Prince Harry in May 2018 and start a family the following year.

Since stepping down as senior royals and moving from the UK to Los Angeles in January 2020, the couple has gradually returned to public life.

In the series finale, Markle speaks to her friends and family, including Harry and her mother Dora Ragland, delivering a speech that hints at this comeback.

“I just want to raise a glass to you guys,” she said. “This feels like a new chapter that I’m so excited to share, and I’ve learned so much from all of you. Thank you for all the love and support.”

Adding a personal touch, the Duchess, who welcomed her second child in 2021, said, “All of this is part of the creativity I’ve greatly missed, so thank you for loving me deeply and celebrating with me.”

The documentary comes three years after Spotify discontinued her Archetypes podcast, which was launched under a lucrative three-year agreement with the streaming giant in late 2020.

As part of an £18m deal, the couple intended to host and produce several podcasts, but Archetypes did not continue to a second season, and their contract concluded. Spotify’s head of podcast innovation and monetization, Bill Simmons, later labeled the duo “grifters.”

In an interview with People magazine to promote her series, Meghan discussed the “learning curve” she faced with her series and brand, acknowledging the many unexpected challenges.

However, despite allegations of promoting the ‘tradwife’ trend, short for ‘traditional wife,’ she clarified, “I do not view myself as one. I see myself as an entrepreneur and a female founder, and if the brand becomes influential, that’s great.”
