Unreleased music by Beyoncé was among several items stolen from a vehicle in Atlanta, just days before the singer’s four-night “Cowboy Carter” tour stop in the city, authorities have confirmed.
According to a police report, hard drives containing unreleased songs, show plans, and both past and future set lists were taken from a rental vehicle used by Beyoncé’s choreographer and one of her dancers.
The theft occurred on 8 July, two days before the Grammy-winning artist began her Atlanta performances.
Police say an arrest warrant has been issued in connection with the incident, though the suspect’s name has not been made public.
Choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue told police they had parked a rented black Jeep Wagoneer near a local food hall. Upon returning, they discovered the vehicle’s rear window had been shattered and two suitcases were missing.
ဘThey reported that the stolen items included “some personal sensitive information for the musician Beyoncé,” according to the police report.
Among the missing belongings were “five jump drives containing watermarked music, unreleased music, footage plans for shows past and future, and set list”, the report states.
Additional items reported stolen include a laptop, designer clothing, and Apple AirPods. Authorities were able to use tracking information from the laptop and AirPods to trace the possible route of the stolen items.
Investigators also processed the vehicle for evidence and reportedly recovered “two very light prints.”
It remains unclear whether any of the items have been recovered.
Beyoncé is currently in Atlanta for her “Cowboy Carter” stadium tour, which began in the city on 10 July. The final show was scheduled for Monday night.
On the third night of her Atlanta stop, Beyoncé was joined onstage by her husband, rapper Jay Z, in a surprise appearance.
Mr. Grant has choreographed for a number of major artists including Shakira, while Mr. Blue previously appeared alongside Beyoncé in a 2024 Super Bowl advertisement that premiered two singles from her “Cowboy Carter” album, released later that year.
