British superstar Adele burst into tears upon spotting Celine Dion at her Las Vegas concert residency. The emotional scene, where Adele was moved to tears after noticing the Canadian singer in the audience, was captured in a viral video.
Dressed in a chic all-black outfit, the Grammy-winner approached Dion, crossing a barrier to give her a heartfelt hug.
Dion responded by kissing Adele’s hand, then returned to her seat, gently wiping away tears with a tissue.
Adele then encouraged the audience to applaud Celine Dion, leading to resounding cheers from the crowd.
A concert attendee named Nasser, who recorded the emotional exchange, told the media, “It seemed like she was proudly passing the torch to Adele. That hug resonated with everyone.”
The Colosseum Theatre at Caesars Palace, currently hosting Adele’s concert series, was initially constructed for Dion’s residency that began in 2003.
The deep respect between the two artists is well-known, notably when Adele revealed her most cherished memento: a framed piece of Dion’s used chewing gum.
Recently, Adele announced her plans to take a significant break from music after her Las Vegas shows conclude in November.
At 36 years old, Adele stated she has been in constant performance mode for nearly three years and is eager to start enjoying her life more fully.
“I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now,” the singer said through tears. “I want to live the life I’ve been building, and I will miss you terribly.”
She highlighted that this has been her longest stretch of continuous performance and likely her last of such duration.
Earlier this year, Dion captivated fans with her appearance at the Paris Olympics, her first performance since being diagnosed with Stiff Person’s Syndrome in 2022.
The diagnosis of this rare, incurable disorder, which causes body rigidity and severe muscle spasms, forced her to cancel her global tour to manage her symptoms.
SPS, an autoimmune and neurological condition, causes stiffening and spasms in the body.
Dion has described the severity of her condition, noting times when it feels like someone is pressing on her throat and voice box while she tries to sing.
