David, Victoria Beckham Wear Iconic Outfits for Anniversary

David and Victoria Beckham recreated their iconic throne wedding scene to mark their 25th wedding anniversary.

The pair posted pictures on Instagram, wearing the same purple ensembles they donned for their second outfit on their wedding day in 1999.

Their caption read: “Look what we found…”, with David adding in a second post, “Yep, still got it! Can’t believe it’s been 25 years and they still fit!”

The former England footballer and the Spice Girl tied the knot on July 4, 1999, at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland, with a small gathering of 29 guests, followed by a grand celebration with numerous celebrities.

One of the photos they recreated shows them seated on the crushed-velvet purple thrones that became a symbol of 90s pop culture.

Originally, they wore these satin purple outfits for their first dance to Frank Sinatra’s “It Had To Be You.”

Their son Brooklyn, who was only four months old at the time, also wore a suit in matching purple.

For the ceremony, Victoria chose a champagne-colored Vera Wang gown, while David wore a gold and cream suit designed by British designer Timothy Everest.

In their Netflix documentary released last year, David discussed their purple outfits designed by Antonio Berardi, seemingly eager to distance himself from the choice to wear them.

In the documentary, David remarked, “I’m trying to think back to when I decided to wear a purple suit, and I don’t know when that happened. I think I just took Victoria’s lead on it, but what were we thinking?”

The couple celebrated Victoria’s 50th birthday with a Spice Girls reunion in April.

David ignited a buzz on social media by sharing a video of the girl band performing their 1998 hit “Stop” at the birthday event. He has since dismissed rumors of a Spice Girls reunion.

Two of the biggest stars of the 90s, the iconic couple began their romance in 1997 and were engaged by 1998.

Their first home on the Hertfordshire and Essex border was affectionately known as “Beckingham Palace,” a nod to their celebrity royalty status.

Since then, they have evolved into a brand, with David venturing into business after his sports and modeling career, and Victoria launching her fashion line.

The couple have four children: Brooklyn, an aspiring photographer and cook, 25; Romeo, a footballer and model, 21; Cruz, a musician and model, 19; and their daughter Harper, aged 12.
