Evan Rachel Wood Accuses Marilyn Manson of Sexual Abuse

“Westworld” actress Evan Rachel Wood has accused her ex-fiancee, Marilyn Manson, of having “horrifically abused” her during their three-year relationship.

The relationship between Wood and the eccentric singer became public in 2007 when he was 38 years old and she was 19. They got engaged in 2010 but split that same year.

The American actress had previously spoken about being abused in one of her relationships.

However, she had refused to name that person until now. Through her Instagram account, she made a post saying: “The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years.”

Other women used their social media platforms on Monday, following Wood’s post, and also accuse the singer of abuse.

Evan added: “I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”

Manson has not commented on the matter.

But his representatives have said that there are also numerous articles where Evan Rachel Wood speaks positively about her relationship with Manson.

Their statement said: “Unfortunately, we live in a time where people believe what they read on the internet, and feel free to say what they want with no actual evidence. The effects can be catastrophic and promoting non fact based information is wholly irresponsible”

“All we can try and do, as the media and individuals, is to use facts and truth and not hide behind gossip and conjecture to further our own agendas,” it continued.

Loma Vista Recordings, Manson’s label, posted a statement on Twitter announcing that it would no longer be working with the artist due to allegations from Wood and other women naming the singer as their abuser.

It said that they would cease to further promote his current album “effective immediately.”

“Due to these concerning developments, we have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects,” it added.

Manson had denied violence in the past. Nonetheless, he made controversial remarks in a 2009 interview, saying: “I have fantasies every day about smashing her skull in with a sledgehammer.”

But Manson’s team declared in 2020: “The comments in Spin where Manson had a fantasy of using a sledgehammer on Evan, and he cut himself 158 times was obviously a theatrical rock star interview promoting a new record and not a factual account. The fact that Evan and Manson got engaged six months after this interview would indicate that no one took this story literally.”
