Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Reportedly ‘Finalizing Divorce’

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are reportedly close to divorcing after two years of marriage. Sources close to the couple revealed that they have ‘finalized’ the necessary paperwork, with their last effort to save their relationship proving unsuccessful.

The news comes after reports surfaced that Affleck purchased a new $20.5 million mansion in Pacific Palisades on July 24, coinciding with Lopez’s 55th birthday.

They have also put their Beverly Hills mansion on the market for $68 million. On her birthday, Lopez completed the sale of her four-bedroom penthouse in New York City for $23 million.

A source revealed: “They finalized the divorce papers a month ago but are waiting for the right time to announce it.”

“At that time, they will release a joint statement expressing their enduring love for each other and how they fought to make it work, but couldn’t.”

Another source stated: “Honestly, in the end, they could not come to a compromise. What they had before is gone, and they have both accepted it.”

The Hollywood couple, who were once engaged and then went through a high-profile breakup in 2004, tied the knot in July 2022. Since then, rumors have been swirling for months suggesting their relationship is on the rocks and possibly approaching a divorce.

Lopez and Affleck have not made a public appearance together since early June, and notably spent both the Fourth of July and their July 16 wedding anniversary apart.

Affleck was absent from the Bridgerton-themed party Lopez hosted just days before her birthday.

Over the weekend, Affleck was seen in Los Angeles with his children, Violet, 18, Finn, 15, and Samuel, 12, from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner, who is 52.

In May, Lopez sharply addressed a journalist during a press conference in Mexico City for her Netflix film “Atlas,” when asked about the divorce rumors.

A video shared on social media shows a reporter asking, “Is your divorce with Ben Affleck real? These rumours?”

“What is the truth? Para le press le Mexicana [for the Mexican press], what is the truth of the situation?”

Simu Liu, Lopez’s co-star, quickly intervened, stating, “Okay, we’re not doing that. Thank you so much, guys, we really appreciate it. Thank you.”

Lopez then addressed the reporter directly, saying, “You know better than that.”
