The much-anticipated third season of “The White Lotus” has just released a new teaser, featuring Thailand’s beloved K-pop icon Lisa Monobal in her debut acting performance.
Yesterday, November 10, the series producer, Max, unveiled a preview showing Blackpink’s Lalisa in her role as Thidapon Sornsin, a warm and engaging hospitality host who welcomes guests with the traditional Thai greeting: “Welcome to The White Lotus in Thailand, ka.”
Lisa, a 27-year-old rapper and singer originally named Pranpriya from Buriram, blends Thai and Swiss heritage. She spent her formative years in Thailand before breaking new ground as YG Entertainment’s first non-Korean trainee.
Boasting a massive following of 104 million on Instagram, Lisa sparked excitement by sharing the teaser along with a playful caption: “Looking forward to 2025!”
In the series, she appears to reconnect with spa manager Belinda Lindsey, portrayed by Natasha Rothwell, who reprises her role from the critically acclaimed first season.
The teaser also features brief glimpses of Emmy-nominated actors Walton Goggins and Parker Posey, who will play guests at the Thai iteration of The White Lotus, set against the luxurious backdrop of the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui.
Additionally, the teaser includes quick shots of Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, and Michelle Monaghan, clad in colorful local attire, enjoying their sumptuous escape.
The third season promises a diverse and stellar cast, including Jason Isaacs, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Scott Glenn, Sam Nivola, Nicholas Duvernay, and Tayme Thapthimthong.
Details of the storyline remain tightly under wraps, but the ensemble will portray a variety of characters ranging from a patriarch and corporate executive to an actress, several mothers, a misfit, and a yogi, as reported by Deadline.
In a 2022 video titled “Unpacking Season 2,” the show’s creator hinted at the upcoming season’s themes, stating: “The first season highlighted money, and the second season focused on sex. For the third season, we’re diving into a satirical and humorous take on death, eastern religion, and spirituality.”
This season offers a “rich tapestry” of storytelling, featuring a more expansive and detailed presentation.
Mike White, the Emmy-winning 54-year-old creator, expressed his enthusiasm for the new season, stating, “It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus: longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing.”
As anticipation grows, fans eagerly await how Lisa Monobal and the ensemble cast will unfold this new chapter of “The White Lotus.”
