Football star Cristiano Ronaldo is engaged to his long-time partner Georgina Rodríguez, the model confirmed on social media. Rodríguez shared the announcement with a photograph of a large ring, captioned in Spanish: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
No further details have been disclosed, and Ronaldo, the most-followed person on Instagram, has not yet publicly commented.
The couple met nine years ago at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working. At the time, Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid.
They share two children, including daughter Bella, born in April 2022 alongside a twin brother who was stillborn. Ronaldo has five children in total, with Rodríguez helping to raise his three older children.
Rodríguez, 31, is the star of the Netflix reality series “I Am Georgina.” She has previously addressed speculation over her relationship status, telling the show that friends were “always joking about the wedding.”
“Since Jennifer Lopez’s song ‘The Ring Or When’ came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me,” she said.
Public figures have reacted to the news online. Kim Kardashian liked the post, while broadcaster Piers Morgan, who interviewed Ronaldo in 2022, wished the pair “as much success in their marriage as he’s had on the football pitch.”
Make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury described it as “fabulous news,” and Lauren Sanchez-Bezos, who married Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in June, said she was “so happy” for them.
Ronaldo and his family are based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he has played for Al-Nassr since December 2022 on a reported annual salary of £177 million ($238 million).
In June 2025, his contract was extended until 2027, despite speculation he might retire. At the time, he posted on X: “A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.”
