Speculation Grows Over Oasis Reunion for Potential 2025 Tour

Many fans thought an Oasis reunion was out of the question, yet rumours are swirling about a potential tour in 2025.

Hints of a reunion have surfaced from Liam and Noel Gallagher, the brothers behind the band, who have stirred the buzz on social media.

A short clip featuring the date ‘27.08.24’ in the Oasis logo style was shared on their Instagram and X profiles on Sunday night, as well as on the official Oasis accounts. The black sign flickered and changed to read ‘8am.’

Liam Gallagher spent Sunday on X addressing the reunion rumours, stating, “I never did like that word FORMER,” and sharing various news pieces about the speculation.

During his Reading Festival performance, he dedicated the song “Half The World Away” to his brother, and “Cigarettes & Alcohol” to those critical of the band.

At the end of the gig, the same clip teasing Tuesday’s date was shown on the stage’s main screens.

Reports are circulating that the band may play 10 nights each at Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park, venues that hosted some of their last performances before splitting in 2009.

This reunion, if confirmed, would surpass Taylor Swift’s record of eight consecutive shows at Wembley.

In response to a fan criticising Heaton Park as a venue on X, Liam quipped, “See you down the front, you big fanny.”

There’s talk that Oasis might headline next year’s Glastonbury festival, despite their 2004 performance there being poorly received.

Despite a 15-year hiatus, Oasis continues to attract both new listeners and those who remember their Britpop era.

This year, Liam Gallagher drew large crowds on his solo tour celebrating the anniversary of “Definitely Maybe,” and recently headlined the Reading and Leeds festivals.

Next year will mark the 13th anniversary of their influential album, “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”

As fans ponder an Oasis reunion, speculation grows about the possible lineup, given the changes over the years.

Many hope for the 1995 lineup, during the peak of Oasis mania. Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs has played with Liam’s solo band for years, Gem Archer with Noel’s since 2017, and Chris Sharrock, a later Oasis drummer, might also join.

Original bassist Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan has been out of the spotlight since leaving Oasis in 1999, and his successor, Andy Bell, now with Ride, seems unlikely to return for the reunion.

The Gallagher brothers’ tumultuous relationship has been well-documented, not speaking for years after Noel left the band in 2009 following a backstage altercation.

Yet, the possibility of reconciliation has been hinted at by Liam as early as 2017, suggesting a softer stance between the two. This has fueled ongoing rumours of an Oasis reunion, with a possible announcement expected imminently.
