Woman Arrested After Gunfire Targeting Rihanna’s LA Home

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after gunfire struck the Beverly Hills home of pop star Rihanna, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police identified the suspect as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, who is currently being held with bail set at $10.2 million (£7.6 million). Officers were called to the property at around 13:15 local time (21:15 GMT) on Sunday following reports of shots fired at the mansion.

Investigators allege that the attacker fired multiple rounds from a vehicle using an AR-15-style rifle, directing the gunfire toward the singer’s residence, the Los Angeles Times reported.

A law enforcement source told the newspaper that Rihanna was inside the home at the time of the shooting. No injuries were reported and authorities have not yet determined a possible motive.

A police official said that several assault rifle casings were recovered at the scene during the investigation.

The suspect’s white Tesla was later located roughly eight miles (12km) away at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping centre, where Ortiz was subsequently taken into custody by officers.

According to a Fox News station in Tampa, the woman is believed to be from Orlando, Florida.

Rihanna welcomed her third child, a daughter named Rocki, in September last year with partner A$AP Rocky.

The couple, who also share two sons, Riot and RZA, publicly revealed Rihanna’s most recent pregnancy during last year’s Met Gala.

Their family news was not the only time they made headlines in 2025. In February, A$AP Rocky was found not guilty of firing a gun at a former friend in a high-profile trial in which Rihanna appeared in court accompanied by their two sons.

Born in Barbados, the singer — whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty — rose to international fame in the early 2000s with chart-topping hits including Pon de Replay and Umbrella.

The nine-time Grammy Award winner recently marked the 20th anniversary of the release of her debut album.

Beyond her music career, Rihanna has built a global business empire, launching several successful ventures including the cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty and a lingerie company. According to Forbes, the 37-year-old’s net worth is estimated to exceed $1 billion.
