Renowned Cast Sign Up To Join Daniel Craig in Knives Out 2

The cast list for the long-anticipated crime novel Knives Out 2 has become a trending topic in recent weeks after it was announced that more well-known and talented actors had joined Daniel Craig, who plays Detective Benoit Blanc.

The original film, Knives Out, had a spectacular celebrity list, including Chris Evans, Don Johnson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ana de Armas, Christopher Plummer, and many more.

Its sequel looks as promising as the first film, as it will also feature world-famous stars. In May 2021, producers made new casting announcements that put together an impressive group of actors.

Dave Bautista was the first new member revealed to star in Knives Out 2.

The former professional wrestler played Drax in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Endgame films and starred in the 2015 James Bond film Spectre and Blade Runner 2049. The second star to join the cast was Edward Norton, who also had a brief participation in a Marvel Studios’ film, The Incredible Hulk.

Actress and musician Janelle Monáe, who has starred in critically acclaimed films such as Harriet and Moonlight, was announced as a cast member for Knives Out 2 a day later.

After kicking off 2021 with her successful role on Wandavision, Kathryn Hahn has also joined it. Hamilton star and Oscar nominee Leslie Odom Jr. and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ actress and Oscar nominee Kate Hudson were also chosen.

The latest casting announcements revealed that Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline and Iron Fist actress Jessica Henwick had been also cast.

The characters these actors will play or how they will fit into the tangled plot has yet to be announced. However, it was confirmed that Rian Johnson would be in command behind the scenes again, as he will return as the sequel’s writer and director.

None of the Knives Out stars except Craig have confirmed whether they would reprise their role from the original film.

Filming for Knives Out 2 is scheduled to begin this summer in Greece and is expected to be released in 2022. But the sequel will not hit theaters with Lionsgate as Netflix bought the rights to the following two installments for an estimated $450 million.
