England claimed an important 1-0 win over the Czech Republic at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday to finish top of Group D. Although the match was evenly matched, the great individual talent boasted by the English team made the difference.
Raheem Sterling came so close to giving his side the lead early in the game, but his shot hit the post.
Even so, in the 12th minute, Jack Grealish made a deft movement and sent in a fine cross for Sterling to score the only goal of the game.
The Czechs tried to respond to that blow and started to dominate. They almost found the equaliser with a fantastic shot from Soucek, but it was not to be.
Henderson came close to extending the lead, but his goal was disallowed for offside.
