Man City Look To Bounce Back in EPL Against Norwich City

Manchester City is looking for their first win of the season after the opening round defeat against Tottenham when they host Norwich City on Saturday afternoon at the Etihad Stadium.

Both teams lost in the opening round. The Citizens suffered a 1-0 loss at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while Norwich City lost at home to Liverpool by 3-0.

Pep Guardiola’s squad is considered a favorite to defend the Premier League title but if they don’t get back on winning track right away it may become difficult at the very start of the season.

City made a record £100 million transfer for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish who made his debut against Tottenham but it seems like they are not getting closer to get Harry Kane from the Spurs.

City’s need for a high-class striker was shown in the opening round defeat and their schedule is pretty tough at the start of the season as they are facing Arsenal, Leicester, Chelsea, and Liverpool in four of their five matches after this weekend’s contest against Norwich City.

‘The Sky Blues’ dominated the last game against Norwich winning 5-0 when the two teams met at the Etihad Stadium in July 2020, but the Canaries did record a 3-2 win over Man City at Carrow Road in September 2019.

Norwich returned to the Premier League after they finished first in the Championship last year but couldn’t have a much more difficult start considering that they opened against Liverpool and are now preparing to take on Man City.

It won’t get easier for Daniel Farke’s squad as they will face Leicester and Arsenal in the next two matches after visiting Manchester.

‘The Canaries’ got Billy Gilmour from Chelsea in a loan deal this summer but if they don’t put any points on the board in the first four rounds it will be a tough season for them.
