Manchester United Confirm Deal To Sign Raphael Varane

On Tuesday, the news that many have been waiting for for weeks arrived: Manchester United have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign renowned defender Raphael Varane.

In a statement, the Red Devils said they were “delighted” to be able to tell their fans of the imminent arrival of a man who, at 28, has won a World Cup and four UEFA Champions League titles.

However, they also made it clear that the completion of the transfer will be subject to “a medical and to player terms being finalised.”

According to international press reports, the two clubs have agreed on an initial fee of USD 47 million, which could rise to USD 58 million.

On the other hand, the French player has already agreed on important terms of the deal, such as its duration, which will be four years with the option to extend it for another twelve months.

Varane and Real Madrid will thus part ways after 10 seasons. In a statement, the Spanish club also made the news official.

“Real Madrid wants to show all its affection to Raphael and his family and wishes him good luck in this new stage of his professional career,” the club said.
