Glass Animals To Make Bangkok Debut at Samyan Mitrtown Hall

Glass Animals, the well-renowned British indie rock band, is set to bring its “Tour of Earth” to the distinguished Samyan Mitrtown Hall venue in the Thai capital on Tuesday, March 4.

Formed in Oxford in 2010, the outstanding group features singer-songwriter Dave Bayley, drummer Joe Seaward, bassist Edmund Irwin-Singer, and guitarist Drew MacFarlane. The show in Bangkok will be the first in Thailand for the quartet, who first rose to prominence when they released their debut album “Zaba” in 2014, to critical and commercial acclaim.

“Heat Waves” is the smash hit that brought Glass Animals to worldwide attention, topping charts, and breaking streaming records with its dreamy, nostalgic vibe. It has got over 3.2 billion streams on Spotify, ranking among the platform’s most-streamed songs of all time.

This current tour supports the band’s latest album, “I Love You So F***ing Much”, released in 2024. “Tour of Earth” marks a career milestone, having taken in a number of esteemed venues, including New York City’s Madison Square Garden, and London’s The O2 Arena.

Frontman Dave Bayley and his bandmates were childhood friends prior to Glass Animals’ formation. The lead single on “Zaba”, named “Gooey”, was certified platinum and gave a perfect showcase for the group’s experimental psychedelic sound and rich lyrical depth.

This initial success was followed by its second studio album, “How to Be a Human Being”, in 2016, which earned the lads recognition in two categories at the 2018 Music Producers Guild Awards held in London: UK Album of the Year and Self-Producing Artist of the Year.

Glass Animals went on to release a third studio album called “Dreamland” in 2020, which marked a radical change from the group’s previous work by having songs almost entirely written and produced by Dave Bayley. This LP was a huge worldwide hit, topping the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart, with “Your Love” joining “Heat Waves” as the top-selling singles.

Along with Bangkok, other cities in Asia on the band’s tour will be Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Taipei. The acclaimed act’s summer will also be jam-packed, headlining a number of major music festivals, like Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee USA this June.

“I Love You So F***ing Much” is a deeply personal record, one that has connected hugely with Glass Animals’ legion of fans around the world. Attendees of the Bangkok show are in for a real treat getting to experience many of the album’s standout hits performed live.
